Mental health remains a great unexamined and unacknowledged aspect of society. It cuts across social, racial and economic boundaries, but it is misunderstood to such an incredible degree that a portion of the population questions not only its impact on an individual but its very existence.
New Year's Resolution #1: Run Miami
The Miami Marathon weekend is important to BRKTHRU and our evolution for a myriad of reasons, and 2018 will be no different. With the addition of a few new faces, collaborations with a few great groups and a deeper relationship with Frankie Ruiz and the team that founded the marathon in Miami we can wait to get to South Beach. Friends of BRKTHRU, Rwenshaun Miller of Eustress and Dr. Kendall Jasper sat down with The Breakfast Club this AM. If you don't know Rwenshaun's story and how he found his purpose in mental health and spreading the word about the importance of mental wellness.
Dr. Jasper helps clear up several misconceptions of the mental health community, with a specific focus on minority communities and their hesitation in seeking help from a mental health specialist. Thanks to The Breakfast Club for taking on this issue during Mental Health Month.

Every journey begins with a first step! BRKTHRU was proud to have hosted the third annual Yusuf Neville Hampton Homecoming 5K on Sunday, October 16th.The run is a platform to celebrate the life and memory of a friend, classmate, and brother. Why run? Yusuf stressed the importance of being active and enjoying the gifts of running.
